A school project that got out of hand

Chester set out to design a card game for school. He landed on the one thing he actually wanted to make a game about: the dogs sitting in shelters waiting for someone to pick them.

So he drew up a deck. Every dog has a breed, an age, a personality and a rule of its own — Frosty the husky is lazy and shy, Fred the dachshund puppy is desperately shy but will do anything for a treat. You play toys, treats and beds to win them over, dodge whatever gets played at you, and race to send your dogs home.

Then he decided the game should do the thing it’s about — so every cent goes to the Ballarat Animal Shelter.
